Choosing a server

Knidos, Nemrut, Lidya and Karya differ in level cap, playable races and how much the job system pays. Here is what actually separates them.

TRSRO runs four servers. They are not cosmetic variants of each other: the level cap differs, one of them is Chinese-race only, and the job and academy systems were rebuilt on the newer ones. Picking the wrong one means levelling into a ghost town or into a race you did not intend to play.

The official site publishes an announcement for each server, but they are launch notes rather than a live reference: Knidos opened at level 90 and has since been raised to 100, and Karya has no page at all. The table below pairs what those announcements say with what the directory shows today.

Level cap is the highest level on each server's ranking board, which is saturated: the top forty on every server sit exactly at the cap.

Which race people actually play

Every character our crawl has found on each server, by race. This is not a sample: a guild's member list prints the race of every member, so the counts below cover thousands per shard rather than the forty a ranking board shows.

Chinese plus European is the total beside it. Five characters across all four servers are left out because their page could not be read. Knidos returning no Europeans at all, across 3,368 characters, is what confirms the race restriction is still in force.

Which one should you pick

You want to play a European character
Anything except Knidos, which is Chinese-only. Every other server is majority European: Nemrut most heavily at 93%, Karya least at 81%, so you will have company on all three.
You want the highest cap and the newest systems
Lidya or Karya, both at 110. Lidya also has the season system, the Fellow pet and an IP limit against multi-boxing.
You want the job system to be the point
This is not a reason to prefer one server over another. The Renewed Job System introduced on Knidos is now on the newer servers too, and the caravan reward lists Knidos and Nemrut publish are the same items. Pick on level cap and race instead.
