Free PvP is the sanctioned way to fight other players. Switch it on, pick a team, and anyone on another team is fair game anywhere outside a safe zone, with no penalty on either side.
What each kind of fight costs
| Situation | What it costs you |
|---|---|
| Free PvP | Nothing. No penalty is applied at all. |
| Fighting in job suits | You lose character EXP and job EXP. |
| Attacking someone outside either system | You go Chaos, and the game punishes you for it from then on. |
Turning it on
- 01Press A to open the Character Action window.
- 02Right-click the Free PvP action to open the Free PvP status window.
- 03Pick a team. It is shown above your character from then on.
The five teams
- Blue Dragon, White Tiger, Jujak, Hyunmu
- Friendly to your own team, hostile to the other four. Pick one of these if you want to fight alongside people.
- Prodigy
- Hostile to everyone, including other Prodigy. There are no allies on this team by design.
- Free PvP does not work in safe zones such as towns.
- It is available from level 1.
- A group of two or more can switch into Free PvP together.
